A Visit to the National Park
Sunday Feb 22, we didn't get off very early as we had to wait for a car we wanted to borrow to com home from an errand. but we drove about 45 minutes to the National Park. It is supposed to have a variety of animals, and Mai particularly wanted to see Elepahnts and Monkys in that order.
After quite a climp up the mountian, we got to a view point, where we stopped and got out to take a look, this is what we saw.
By that time it was past time for lunch, so we got our stuff out, and started making sandwhiches, at this little picnic area. We ate, and were down to the bananas, when we saw across the road where we had stopped the car, that a monkey had come out of the jungle, and was walking around. From where we were, we thought he was pretty cute.
Suddenly he jumped right into the back window of the car. Andrew, (Mai'Rhea's friend from her training program in Florida, started across the road to chase him out of the car), but before Andrew got there, the monkey jumped out of the front window, with some thing in his "hand". When Andrew gotn there he discovered it was his newly purchased package of pumpkin seeds, but there was no getting it back.
Then the thought struck me that if he got that close he would also get what was in the bag, so I threw it away from me, while I was thinking about the e-mails that tell us that if someone wants your purse throw it away from yourself and run the opposite direction!!!
We then realized that we had to quickly get into the car and close the windows, as it was not only him, but he had alerted his clan that there was food availible, and they were emerging from all corners of the parking lot.
We didn't get to see any elephants, but we did stop to see several waterfalls.
