Princess Tiffany!

June 17, 2007 was a day of Magic for Ronald and Tiffany. The flowers were breath taking as well as fragrant! The brides custom tailored dress was laden with hundreds of beads and sequins hand stitched by “friend Denise”.

Their dream of a garden reception was washed away by unpredictable weather, which ended up in rain and rainbows! (Sunday Morning, the decision had to be made to use the cafeteria on the campus where her parents are staff.)

The photographer arrived at the church about noon, for a “before the ceremony” photo shoot.

The bride and her family are blessed with an array of multi-talented friends who were willing to dedicate their time to make a perfect day.

The decorations, the flowers, the dresses, the music, and the 250 cupcakes (that took the place of a wedding cake), were all simple, but elegant.

It was a wedding fit for a “Princess”

God's Hand

We cannot share the beauty of Ronald & Tiffany’s Wedding without “Praising God”, and placing our Testimony of His Love here for all to read.

We left home by 4:30 a.m. on Thursday June 14, after a long week of preparing food, and other things for the wedding. We drove as far as our new property 1.5 hrs from Kelowna. We stopped there so Royce, Mai-Rhea, and Jere could do some exploring and visit our waterfalls. We then ate breakfast, and about 8 a.m. we headed out on our way to Spokane, anticipating arriving there about noon. Hector was driving, and about 50 km, or 30 min later, he started feeling sleepy. He took a quick look to see who he could get to drive, but everyone was asleep.

The next thing any of us knew was the racket of tires on gravel! As I awoke, I saw grass, ditch, bushes, and a post right in front of us. It seems that I held my breath, until everything came to a stop.

Only the “HAND OF GOD” guided that van on the morning of June 14. It seems that God chose the perfect place for this accident to happen. We had just come around a corner, and evidently the car continued to turn as Hector fell asleep. We crossed the oncoming traffic lane, but God arranged for all traffic to be past, or still coming, but none was right there at that second. He also chose a place where there really was no ditch. From the paved shoulder there was a gradual drop of about a foot. Our already overloaded van gracefully descended the incline without damaging anything, (not the rigid mud flaps, the running boards, the tires, or anything under the van). The area below the road, which really can’t be called a ditch, was actually very level, the ride was rough, but after inspection, the roughness was not rocks, but lumps of grass, and small bushes. We actually traveled about 300 ft, and ended up back on the shoulder. We were still on the wrong side of the road, facing the oncoming traffic, but we were neatly parked, facing a motorcycle that had pulled over waiting for all the activity to come to a halt. We spoke to him, and then pulled over onto the correct side of the road, and continued our journey. Just another 40-50 feet from where we came back on the road, there was no ditch, rather a steep embankment down to a river. God truly chose the perfect accident spot. Yes God could have kept Hector awake and not needed the perfect accident site , but sometimes he has to allow us to learn some important lessons.

As we continued on to Spokane, our “Off Road” experience began to sink in, and we realized that only the “Hand of God” could have been in control at that moment. We could have run head on into another vehicle, or worse yet a large truck or bus. But there was NO traffic coming. We could have rolled the van, if Hector had tried to jerk it back onto the road as it was going down. If he had tried to stop sooner, chances are we would have gotten stuck in the soft soil, and grass. Or, if it would have happened just seconds later, we would have gone down into the river. We have no doubt that God does send angles who physically do what is necessary to keep God’s children safe.

I believe that my angel walked up to us, spoke to me, and helped us get through customs at the New Delhi Airport, May of 2003. In my mind I can picture him safely maneuvering our van at 8:30 am on June 14, 2007.

We were so thankful to safely arrive in Spokane, and to be there to witness Ronald & Tiffany’s wedding. Everything could have turned out so different. God is still in charge, and we all need to Praise Him, acknowledge his watch care, and share with others how much God loves us and how willing He is to protect and save us.

PRAISE GOD!
