My Dad's cousin Peter Aalten married a wonderful lady by the name of:
Ruth
On August 8th she celebrated her 100th Birthday.
She lives in Powell River BC
It is on the main land, but it takes 2 ferry boats to get there.
Here is some of the beautiful scenery, on the trip.
Friday afternoon at 1 pm a tea for local friends and family.
At 5 pm a dinner for family, all at the Hotel.
She worked may years for the Credit Union,
part of her job was to go to schools
and sign children up for saving accounts.
then monthly she would go to the school
to get their savings and deposit them into their accounts.
She became known to the children as
"The Credit Union Lady"
The Poster was made by the Credit Union
in honour of her Birthday.
