The Tree

A little excitement!! the morning of July 16 my aunt who lives in my moms house next door to us, came over and said that she noticed there was to much tree in front of her living room window. When she went outside she could hear cracking. So Hector went over to see what was happening, and he phoned me and said bring the camera. By the time I got the camera and rushed over there I got a couple pictures before the whole big branch came down, it was a good portion of the one side of the tree.



There it is, it came down on top of the Hazel Nut tree, causing it much damage and shock!!
It took Hector and his firend Ralph a long time to get that chopped up and trucked away.




Then on August 24, the City came and cleaned up the part that was hanging over the road in preparation for the "House Moving" event that will be taking place sometime in September.

Mai Leaves

Sorry Folks, my blogging has been hit and miss this summer.

We had the privilege of Mai-Rhea being home with us from June 4th to July 11th, which was way to short. But that is how it turned out.

Shortly after Mai got home, before the wedding, I had her cut? trim? style? well do something to my hair. She had done cuts for friends all through her college years, so I was hoping for a great layered look when she was done. well she complained the whole time and was all worried about how it would turn out, and kept saying Mommy why do you make me do this?" Well her concerns came true!! It didn't turn out like either of us were anticipating, so I ended up going to get it fixed, the girl asked me if I had cut it my self, I told her no, I let my daughter cut it, and I am not sure if she believed me???

After the wedding Mai decided that she wanted her hair cut before going back to Saipan, so to my delight sweet revenge time had arrived!!! Below you can see the results of that!!!

Well actually she is still smiling!! I in fact was extra careful to come up with what she wanted so that she would not be able to say I paid her back! I cut it one day being very careful, and she styled it and spent the afternoon with a girlfriend, and the next day she said "No, it is not as short as I wanted it to be, please cut some more off, so I went through the whole process again, and that time she like it.


On July 11th we left Kelowna with her and her big suitcases, and headed to Vancouver (Surrey), where we spent the evening and part of the night with Hector's brother Soljer.

By 1:30 am we were up and getting ready to leave for Seattle (a 2.5-3 hr drive) Mai had a flight around 7 am, and we needed the 2 hr check-in time.


As you can see she is just aglow with the anticipation of spending the weekend with her girlfriend Sarah Jane in California.


She spent July 12-16 with SJ, and when she got back to Seattle spent the next 8 days visiting in Oregon, and even got to attend a few days of Oregon Campmeeting. More later about our trip to Seattle to meet her before she flew back to Saipan.
